TENSIONERS FOR BANNERS

Banner tensioners are used to professionally fix banners inside a structure.

WHY ARE BANNER TENSIONERS MADE OF RUBBER?

A banner placed outside a building is exposed to gusts of wind, which are sometimes very strong. If we add to this the large surface of the printed fabric, which behaves like a sail in the wind, it should be concluded that the forces acting on the entire structure are enormous. Connecting the frame to the banner with rigid fasteners would cause this force to be transferred to the frame, which could lead to damage or breakage of the PVC carrier. For this reason, in order to introduce a factor that absorbs wind jerks, banner tensioners based on strong rubber are used. This not only mitigates the effects of wind, but also creates the effect of good stretching of the fabric, resulting in better exposure of the content printed on it.

WHAT DO BANNER TENSIONERS CONSIST OF?

The basic element is undoubtedly the rubber itself, often in a cotton braid. Such a flexible line is wrapped around the frame of the structure and connects it to the banner via a steel eyelet made on its edge. Banner tensioners differ in the thickness of the rubber and the way it is attached to the eyelet. These elements are closely related to the loads that the tensioner can withstand, as well as the distance between the edge of the banner and the frame of the structure, i.e. the distance.

WHY IS THE DISTANCE BETWEEN THE BANNER AND THE FRAME IMPORTANT?

Attaching printed fabric to a metal frame using banner tensioners involves the creation of distance, i.e. the space between the edge of the fabric and the frame. Aesthetic considerations aside, too much clearance results in a reduction in the area available for advertising display.

Below is a summary of the width of the distance, taking into account the type of banner tensioners and the thickness of the pipe from which the frame is made.

The width of the distance between the frame tube and the banner:

Pipe diameter: 42 mm

Distance at the tensioner with a hook: 8 cm

Distance at Stormfix tensioner: 3 cm

Based on the above data, we can easily calculate the area of the banner that can be printed. In the example, we assumed that the length of the tube is 100 cm, and its diameter is 42.0 mm.

BANNER TENSIONERS - THE MOST COMMONLY USED TYPES

In our store we offer two types of tensioners for banners:

- tensioner with a hook

- Stormfix tensioner.


Banner tensioners with a hook

Banner tensioners with a hook are made of a loop of black rubber with a length of 20 cm. This is the right size for mounting a banner inside an advertising structure. The use of longer tensioners would make the banner too loose, while shorter ones would fail to grip it. When using this type of tensioners, the recommended distance between the edge of the banner and the tube of the structure is 8 cm.

Stormfix banner tensioners

Stormfix banner tensioners have a flexible 8 mm diameter textile braided rubber cable terminated with two types of ends: male and female, which connect to each other through the banner eyelet.

Stormfix banner tensioners - advantages:

StormFix banner tensioners owe their popularity to the fact that they allow the banner to be tensioned as far as 2 cm from the frame. This has two advantages: the end result looks great, and the space inside the frame can be used optimally.
