Advertising cubes – how do you design a structure of this type?

Nowadays, adverts appear almost everywhere. The multitude of different types of banners, billboards or boards allows the medium to be well matched to the message. However, some consumers are becoming increasingly “immune” to advertisements visible in the environment and do not pay attention to them.

Therefore, in order to reach new customers more effectively, you need to stand out. Unusual advertising structures, such as the so-called ‘cubes’, will help with this.

In this article, we outline the advantages of this type of frames and help you design your own.

Advertising cube – what is it?

An advertising cube is a rectangular structure (usually cubic) used to display banners. The unusual shape catches the eye and allows a printed sheet to be attached to each of its sides. This makes it ideal for places where a lot of people pass by, as the advertisement is clearly visible from all sides.

You will use structures of this type for both outdoor and indoor use. Using tubes and metal connectors you can create an advertising cube of any size. Therefore, there is no problem in matching the block to the site conditions.

Where are advertising cubes used?

The specifics of such a medium usually determine the placement. Advertising cubes are usually placed in so-called high-traffic areas, i.e. places where a lot of people are regularly present. They can be used as the basis of an advertising banner, information board or pointing the way to a specific point.

If we are talking about outdoor use, these stands can be found:

  • at entrances to shopping malls, cinemas, theatres, stadiums, etc,
  • in front of company headquarters,
  • in large car parks,
  • at events, such as concerts, festivals and sports events,
  • at transport interchanges – urban and road.

Advertising cubes also work well inside large buildings, for example:

  • at trade fairs – free-standing or as part of the exhibition stand structure,
  • in meeting halls  and auditoriums,
  • in the hall of an airport or train station,
  • inside a shopping mall or hypermarket.

Designing an advertising cube

In our article on designing advertising structures  we presented a formula for calculating the size of a frame relative to a banner – we encourage you to read this guide.

However, we will now focus strictly on the advertising cube. If you have already calculated the dimensions of the frame, you will know the lengths of the tubes needed for assembly. We recommend the use of 42 mm diameter aluminium tubesin most cases these will be suitable for advertising structures.

The tubes should be connected to each other using suitable corner elbows. With the simplest structure, you will need 8 of them. These will create a right-angle connection for the three tubes. Once the connectors have been tightened, the underlying structure is created. There is still the question of fixing to the ground.

Fixing to the ground

If you are going to set up the advertising cube outside, remember to secure it against moving.

In this case, there are two possibilities:

  • anchor mounting in concrete base surface
  • and weighing down the base of the frame with concrete slabs.

The first way is good if you intend to place the advertising cube in a particular location permanently. Then you will need to prepare a good quality concrete floor and choose several supports and suitable anchors for the set.

In the second case, the “lower wall” of the cube must be further equipped with additional tubes mounted on tees. You can put a ballast on them.
