Banner frame – a convenient solution for displaying adverts

It’s nothing new that good advertising is the foundation of an effective business. It allows you to attract the attention of a potential customer and communicate an offer. However, there are significant costs associated with renting advertising space. This is why it is worth investing in your own banner frames.

Find out the advantages of such frames and how to design them yourself.

Banner frame – advantages and application possibilities

Banner frames are sturdy structures that can be easily attached to walls, allowing advertisements to be displayed. Their main advantage is that they are easy to assemble – using the appropriate pipe fittings you will create a structure of any size. However, all you need to fix it to the wall is a drill and a set of wall plugs.

What other advantages do banner frames have? Below are a few examples.

They can be mounted on a variety of surfaces

You can attach banner frames to a variety of buildings. The wall can be made of concrete, sheet metal, sandwich slab or blocks insulated with polystyrene foam. Therefore, whether you want to place an advertisement on the façade of a business office or shop, a warehouse hall or other building – a banner frame will work perfectly.

Resistance to atmospheric conditions

The durability of this type of structure against outdoor conditions is also an important advantage. The solid wall fixing makes the banner frame resistant to wind gusts, unlike free-standing structures. There is therefore no need to worry about damage to the façade or nearby buildings. The frame is also protected against moisture. The aluminium pipes and galvanised fittings used in them show high corrosion resistance.

The banner can have any proportions

Another important feature is versatility in terms of size. The frame can be adapted to the size of the wall. On the other hand, the easy design of the advertising structures makes it possible to match the proportions of the banner. So frames can take the shape of a square, a rectangle or even more complex figures.

Possibility of covering up an unsightly façade

Banner frames are often used to make large-format advertisements. In this case, the banner has a very large surface area (even several hundred square metres). With such a sheet, you can easily cover up falling plaster on an old building.

Easy replacement of banners

A banner frame will also work well if your adverts change periodically. StormFix tensioners make it easy to quickly attach and remove the sheet with overprint. Therefore, if you run a shop or restaurant, you can inform passers-by about current promotions or new products on offer. Such activities are carried out by many companies in the FMCG sector, but they will certainly work well in many other industries.

Banner frame design

We have already written an article on the design of various advertising structures on our blog. You will find lots of advice on creating your own frame and a formula for calculating its size.

We are now getting to banner frames.

The first step will be to determine the length of the sides. Once you have calculated this, you can choose the right diameter tubes and connectors. We recommend using aluminium tubes with a diameter of fi 42 mm – this is a diameter suitable for most structures.

Another element are the connectors and mounting brackets. In most cases you will need four 90° elbow type adapters, unless you are designing a frame with a shape other than rectangular. On the other hand, the choice of mounting brackets depends on whether the wall on which you want to hang the banner is level.

When the entire surface is smooth, simply add pipe supports to the set. The face of the banner will then be at a distance of approx. 6 cm from the wall.

On the other hand, when there are obstacles on the wall (window sills, pipes, roller shutter boxes, etc.), the banner frame must include the appropriate distances. You will make each of them from the following elements:

In order for the structure to be fully robust, the mounting points should be placed at maximum 100 cm intervals.

Important!

If the wall is of poor quality (e.g. the plaster is flaking), it is advisable to use more brackets and place them at smaller intervals.
