In a competitive business, it is crucial to reach potential customers effectively. Although newer and newer methods are emerging in marketing, traditional billboards are not losing their relevance. They are very often used to promote products and services locally.
In the following article, we discuss how to use such structures effectively. We also suggest how to design one of them.
Use in public spaces
Boards placed at busy roads or junctions attract the attention of drivers and pedestrians. They can provide information about nearby attractions, businesses or locations. Then they fulfil an advertising function, but can also present information such as directions.
In such locations, these are usually structures permanently fixed to the ground. The advertising board made of metal profiles has brackets that allow it to be screwed to a concrete base.
Free-standing billboards
Nothing stands in the way to place such a structure on your own property. This gives you full control over the advertisement you present and allows you to keep it for as long as you need. Your own billboard allows you to become independent of companies that sell advertising space for a limited period of time (e.g. one month). So it is an investment that allows you to manage your advertising budget more economically.
Such a freestanding banner stand also allows for quick repositioning of the advertisement. Using tube connectors , you can easily dismantle the advertising board and transport it to another location. It will then attract the attention of a new group of potential customers.
Designing a freestanding billboard
In an article about designing advertising structures , we discussed some tips for creating customised frames and methods for calculating their size.
In the case of free-standing boards, the case is similar. However, it is important to remember that a banner in the wind acts as a sail.
Important!
Larger free-standing structures should be weighted down at the base or fixed so that they are not a hazard.
What elements are needed to create a freestanding board? Make use of the following crib sheet.
Front of the board:
- 42 mm aluminium tubes cut to the size of the banner,
- elbows and tees to connect the tubes,
- tensioners for the banner sheet.
Support and crossbars:
- The length of the tubes depends on the size of the banner. The larger it is, the more crossbars there should also be (see figure below),
- 45° angle or adjustable tees,
- tube supports or ballast on the base of the board.
Free-standing billboards – ready-made structures
When designing your own frame, it is important to match it to the surroundings and the size of the banner. However, you can often use ready-made advertising boards of standard sizes, which only need to be screwed together on site.
You can order such a set from our Tube Fittings shop. Below you will see some of our projects.
