Kee Cover® Rooflight Fall Protection
Safety at the highest levelA flexible solution for protecting rooflights on roofs with trapezoidal metal sheets and standing seam roofs. The system protects against falls from height without blocking the natural light entering the building.
What is the Kee Cover® system?
Kee Cover® is a safety system designed to protect unprotected rooflights against accidental falls. It protects the rooflight while allowing natural daylight to enter the building. It is particularly useful on roofs where rooflights are old, dirty or difficult to distinguish from the rest of the roof surface.
The protection consists of a durable mesh panel and a metal frame made from Kee Klamp® fittings and tubes with an outside diameter of 26.9 mm. The frame is secured to the rooflight kerb using a patented tensioning system. Installation does not require self-tapping screws penetrating the roof structure.
The system is supplied in component form, making it easy to transport to the roof. The standard panel measures 2 × 1 m. If required, it can be connected to additional 2 m or 1 m panels. This allows the protection to be adapted to rooflights of different lengths and widths.
Kee Cover® is available in two variants. The standard version is positioned close to the roof surface. The raised version uses short legs that increase the distance between the panel and the rooflight. This design provides additional clearance and helps absorb energy in the event of an impact.

Why choose Kee Cover®?
Kee Cover® is a proven solution for protecting rooflights against falls from height. The modular design allows the protection to be adapted to different rooflight shapes and sizes without blocking the building's natural light.
Does not block natural light
The mesh panels do not obstruct natural light, helping to keep the building interior well lit.
Portable system
Supplied in separate components, making it easier to transport the elements to roof level, even through the interior of the building.
Durable construction
All components and mesh panels are hot-dip galvanized, increasing their resistance to weather conditions.
Easy installation
The simple installation method helps reduce the cost of installing rooflight protection.
Flexible expansion
2 m or 1 m extension panels allow larger and longer roof areas around the rooflight to be protected.
Adaptation to rooflight shape
Height adjustment allows the system to be used with rooflights of different shapes.
Choose the right rooflight protection variant
The Kee Cover® system is individually adapted to the type and size of the rooflight. Below are the basic system variants.
Standard system
A variant installed practically flush with the roof surface, directly above the rooflight. The basic solution, most commonly used on roofs with trapezoidal metal sheets and standing seams.

The mesh panel is installed on short legs, creating a greater distance from the rooflight. In the event of a fall, the system absorbs impact energy, reducing the risk of damage to the rooflight.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to protect every rooflight on my roof?
In simple terms, yes. We recommend working with one of our experts, who can help identify priorities regarding fall hazards on the roof using a risk-assessment approach.
I think my rooflight already has fall protection. How can I make sure?
Most rooflights have a warning sign reading “Danger of falling” attached to the rooflight frame. However, the absence of such a sign does not mean that the rooflight is protected. Rooflights deteriorate over time due to UV exposure and may not withstand a fall. If in doubt, it is advisable to ask the rooflight manufacturer for a written assessment of its fall protection.
What is the widest rooflight I can protect with Kee Cover?
The standard protection width is up to 2 m, while the length can be extended as required using 2 m and 1 m extension panels.
I have bars on the inside of my rooflight. Are these fall protection?
Bars welded inside rooflights are commonly known as “burglar bars” and are designed to keep intruders out of the building, not to provide fall protection. They also do not protect people or equipment below the opening from fragments of a broken dome. Kee Safety does not recommend using burglar bars as fall protection.
Does the Kee Cover protection pierce the edges of my domed rooflight?
No. The Kee Cover system is secured to the roof around the edges of the rooflight. No mounting component comes into contact with the rooflight, and if the dome protrudes above the roof surface, a raised variant with spacers can be used to provide additional clearance.
