Rooflight Safety Barriers Kee Dome®
Safety at the highest levelA freestanding fall protection system that prevents falls through rooflights without penetrating the roof surface or damaging the roof membrane. Kee Dome® minimises the risk of falls from height through rooflights, providing effective collective protection.
What is the Kee Dome® system?
Kee Dome® is a freestanding barrier system that protects against falls through rooflights, skylights, roof windows and smoke vents. It can be used with square and rectangular rooflights as well as glazed domes.
The system consists of standard modular components and weights made from recycled PVC. There is no need to drill or attach the barriers directly to the roof, so the roof surface and membrane remain intact. Kee Dome® can be installed on roofs with a pitch of up to 3°.
The tubes and fittings are galvanised in accordance with BS EN ISO 1461. The set screws feature additional Kee Koat® anti-corrosion coating and Thredkoat® thread protection. The system is durable, while also being easy to dismantle and relocate to another position.

Frequently asked questions
My rooflight is very large – will Kee Dome® be suitable?
Yes. The modular design of the Kee Dome® system allows even large rooflights to be protected, regardless of their size and shape.
I want to protect rooflights on a metal roof – can I use Kee Dome®?
The Kee Dome® system is recommended for use exclusively on flat membrane roofs. For metal roofs, we offer non-standard barrier solutions – contact our expert to select the appropriate system for your facility.
I think my rooflight already has fall protection – how can I verify this?
Most rooflights equipped with fall protection have a warning sign indicating the risk of falling. However, the absence of such a sign does not automatically mean that no protection is present, and its condition may deteriorate over time due to UV radiation. If in doubt, it is advisable to contact the rooflight manufacturer and request a written assessment of the existing protection.
There are bars inside the rooflight – are they fall protection?
Bars welded inside a rooflight are typically anti-burglary bars designed to prevent unauthorised access to the building, rather than to protect against falls. They also do not protect workers or equipment located below the opening. Kee Safety does not recommend using anti-burglary bars as fall protection.
Do I need to protect every rooflight on my roof?
As a general rule, yes. We recommend consulting our expert, who can help determine priorities based on a risk assessment of the individual roof openings.
